MICHEL NORMANN
Michel Normann: Sculptor Exploring Form and Intuition
Born in 1966, Michel Normann is a sculptor who balances a professional career in business with his artistic pursuits. His work is driven by a deep passion for form, movement, and the power of intuition, blending the abstract and the concrete. Normann views his art as a necessary creative force, expressing that creating is a process rooted in the present moment and guided by inner intuition.
His recent series, Shape of Women per Intuition, explores the essence of female forms in motion. Normann’s aim is not to tell stories but to evoke emotions, inviting viewers to reflect on his minimalist bronze and plaster sculptures. He believes in stripping his work down to its purest form, eliminating anything unnecessary to reveal the essence.
Normann’s artistic process is fueled by joy and guided by emotions that signal deeper meaning. He draws inspiration from renowned sculptors like Henry Moore, Hans Arp, and Auguste Rodin, as well as from mentors like Jørgen Haugen Sørensen. His family life, shared with jewellery designer Charlotte Lynggaard, also plays a significant role in his creative environment.
Michel Normann continues to approach his work with curiosity and respect, maintaining a constant dialogue between past, present, and future through his exploration of form.
